A new travel and sports channel needed to turn its stories into clicks and subscribers. The creators produced the films; my role covered the packaging, distribution and analysis around each release.
My work
I developed episode titles around specific moments in each story, kept them in the creators' voice and tested alternatives after publication. I built a consistent thumbnail approach with clear episode branding and high-contrast details for mobile viewing.
For paid promotion, I adjusted targeting and moved budget toward campaigns acquiring subscribers more efficiently, cutting weaker performers. Alongside campaign costs, I reviewed click-through rates, watch time and traffic sources to understand what happened after the click.
The results
My launch-period report recorded 21,693 net subscribers across the channel. Separately, YouTube Promotions attributed 27,490 subscribers to 29 campaigns, on $5,746 of spend, or approximately $0.21 per subscriber. The channel total and promotion-attributed subscribers are different measures, not interchangeable totals.
What the analysis showed
Growth was driven primarily by paid promotion. Retention and return visits remained the next challenge, so I recommended testing stronger episode openings, tighter pacing and more natural delivery, alongside better end screens and playlists. These were recommendations for the next phase, not claimed improvements already achieved.
The work combined creative packaging, hands-on campaign optimisation and a clear assessment of where the content needed to improve.
