Student Web Monitoring MVP (Chrome Extension)

I worked with a school network to build a simple tool that helps teachers keep students focused during class. The goal was clear. Create a lightweight Chrome extension that runs on managed Chromebooks and shows if a student goes off-task while browsing.

I built a full MVP around this idea. The extension tracks the active tab, checks the page activity with a small backend service, and shows a clean countdown popup when a student opens a distracting site. If they return to a study page, the popup disappears right away.

Everything runs fast and quietly in the background. The school can test it easily because the whole system works with a small API setup and a simple classification workflow.

This MVP lets the team try the concept in real classrooms before moving to the advanced phase with more automation and reporting.
