Building a Children's Wear Brand from Scratch

Context

Raisens is a children's wear brand I co-founded, built around a hybrid chick-dinosaur mascot designed to give the brand a distinct, ownable identity in a crowded kidswear market. The challenge was validating the business opportunity and building every layer of the brand; identity, product packaging, storefront, and launch content before going to market.

Strategic Approach

Rather than building pieces in isolation, the approach treated brand identity, product experience, and content as one connected system from day one.
The strategy included:
Market research and a formal pitch to validate the business opportunity within the children's wear space
A full brand identity system; logo, color palette, typography, and an original mascot illustration built to be memorable and ownable
Physical touchpoints (hang tags, packaging, gift bag, thank-you card) designed to extend the brand experience beyond the product itself
A content strategy built around a connected narrative arc rather than disconnected posts

Execution

Conducted market research and developed a pitch validating the business opportunity within the children's wear space
Built a full brand identity; logo, color palette, typography, and mascot illustration (the "Chickosaur")
Designed hang tags, a gift bag, a sticker freebie series with original taglines, and a thank-you card
Built and styled a Shopify storefront end-to-end
Developed a content strategy with a 3-week Instagram launch runway and a connected narrative arc

Why It Matters

Raisens is proof that brand-building instincts apply across categories, the same skills used to grow FatCat Stickers from zero were applied again here. This time with a sharper, more deliberate approach to brand systems thinking from day one rather than building reactively.

Results

A fully built brand system, from validated business case to live storefront, ready for a 2026 launch, including original mascot IP, a complete packaging suite, and a structured content rollout plan.
