When I joined DealApp as a Product Designer, I walked into a map — literally. In my first week, my manager Mohammed Medhat showed me the property-map screen, and it hit me: this wasn’t a tool, it was a wall. Clients and agents struggled to explore properties. The interface was clunky, filters were hidden, and almost nobody engaged. 

Digging into data (CTR, session recordings via Smartlook), the picture was even starker: users were bouncing instantly. What should’ve been a discovery hub had become a dead end.

I knew we needed more than a facelift. We needed to rethink how people explore properties. I sketched out five map interaction concepts — from dynamic filtering to segmented views tailored for agents vs clients. We iterated fast, aligned with stakeholders, and landed on a map-first, interactive experience:

Users can zoom, pan, filter directly on the map

Tabs switch contexts (ads, requests, agents)

Easy toggle between map & list views

The new experience reactivated engagement. Map interactions soared by 60%, and user satisfaction jumped 35%. 

We also cleaned up ad overlap and made browsing feel natural again. 

What really stuck with me: in design, you don’t just build what looks good — you build what feels usable. A map is more than pins; it’s a journey.
