UNCLE DOUGH — BRAND STORY & CASE STUDY

Uncle Dough is a bakery rooted in a simple family lesson: good bread takes time. Inspired by an uncle who believed in slow, honest baking, the brand carries forward his warmth, patience, and craft. Every loaf reflects the idea that time isn’t an ingredient — it’s a tradition.
To bring this story to life, I created a hand-drawn wordmark to keep the identity personal and human, echoing the way he baked. The visual direction uses warm typography, subtle imperfections, and grounded textures to make the brand feel lived-in and familiar.
I placed the identity within the streets of Marseille using @atstudio.mockup, giving the bakery a realistic neighborhood presence — the kind of spot people recognize, return to, and recommend.
The logo system is built around a hand-drawn wordmark to reflect human touch and tradition, with subtle imperfections that mirror slow, honest baking.
A simple mascot mark was introduced to embody the uncle behind the bread, adding personality and storytelling to the identity. Used as a secondary logo, it reinforces the brand’s heritage, warmth, and human presence while creating a memorable symbol that feels timeless and approachable.
The color palette is rooted in warmth and honesty, led by a bold scarlet red inspired by oven heat and fresh crust, bringing appetite appeal and strong recognition.
