INTRODUCTION

Eco'link, a pioneer in automotive recycling, sought to enhance the process of recycling electric car batteries for its partner dealerships.
To achieve this, I created a tailored app using Bubble.io, designed to automate workflows, manage submissions, and oversee the full lifecycle of battery recycling requests. This solution replaced outdated, manual practices that had relied heavily on Excel sheets and email threads.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Core Challenges

Eco'link's reliance on Excel sheets and manual processes for battery recycling requests came with significant drawbacks:
Manual inefficiencies: Tasks such as emailing and manually creating PDFs were time-consuming.
Operational risks: Without automation, the process was prone to errors and delays, affecting productivity and user experience.

Key Business Risks

This manual system posed risks, including missed communications, inconsistent data, and processing delays. To ensure smooth operations among all parties—dealerships, Eco'link admins, transporters, and recycling centers—a streamlined, automated approach was crucial.

SOLUTION

Approach

I developed a comprehensive app using Bubble.io, focusing on automation and efficient workflow management:
Automated PDF Generation: Enabled within Bubble.io itself, eliminating reliance on third-party tools and saving costs. Administrators could customize PDF outputs through a dedicated dashboard.
Email Automation: Integrated Mailjet with Bubble.io for seamless, sequenced email notifications to all stakeholders, ensuring timely communication at each stage.
Multi-Actor Coordination: Structured communication channels ensured transparency and consistent information sharing among all involved.

Core Solution Components

Kanban Dashboard: A live, auto-refreshing dashboard for administrators to manage requests collaboratively in real-time.
Dynamic Form Management: Partner dealerships submitted detailed recycling requests through a structured form, automating processes from start to confirmation.
Email and PDF Automation: Automatically generated transport orders as PDFs and sent customized emails to all stakeholders to keep processes synchronized.

IMPLEMENTATION

Development and Timeline

The app leveraged Bubble.io's automation capabilities and real-time data management. The auto-refresh feature was particularly beneficial, supporting simultaneous administrative updates and smooth teamwork.

Technology Stack

Bubble.io: Used for app development and PDF automation.
Mailjet: Employed for automated email communication, ensuring comprehensive updates throughout the recycling stages.

RESULTS

Operational Efficiency

By automating manual tasks and communications, the app significantly cut down on administrative workload. This led to more efficient management of recycling requests, reduced errors, and saved time.

User Engagement

Feedback from Eco'link’s partner dealerships and internal teams was positive. The real-time updates and automated workflow provided a seamless user experience, improving productivity and collaboration.

Future Prospects

The app’s adaptable structure positions Eco'link for future enhancements, such as additional automation features and expanded functionality to support their evolving electric vehicle recycling efforts.
