My experience building a Data Analytics Platform for Galleries and Museums
The year 2021, straight after Covid.
The first thing I did was move to London and visit as many galleries as possible. At that time, I was consulting for a record label by Strand Palace Hotel in Covent Garden. On my lunch breaks, I would go to various nearby galleries just to learn more about the art world, paintings, different artists, and so on. It was more of a hobby and letting curiosity be my compass.
Through this, I found that most galleries are still using a black book to build their email list and rarely incentivize people to put their emails in. They often know that they should do so to make more sales, but they just don't. This experience planted a seed, and I kept on thinking about if there were a better way to do it. What would it look like?
And that's where the idea for Memento Analytics was born, which incentivized gallery and museum visitors to put their accurate name and email address in a platform based on capturing a moment of time. This was prompted by asking a simple question: "How do you feel at the moment?"
As soon as they put their email address in and answer a few questions that is curated by the gallery, their AI imagery or memento will be generated in the background and sent to their email address.
The incentive wasn't just this, but some visitors would get a prize that could be redeemed at the reception. These incentives were vast, from painting sets and blank canvases all the way to invites to exclusive events.
So this was a hit because Memento was solving two problems: it was gaining valuable data from ghost visitors and also helping galleries and museums build a collected database through surveys.

Thousands of speakers from around the world announced that they're speaking at a conference or an event, and they often share a link to the event registration page, or they don't share a link at all.
After visiting over 50 Galleries in London I thought there must be a better way. So I developed 'Momento' to help galleries collect visitor data effectively.
