Product Definition & UI/UX Design for Feature-Rich Wedding PWA

About the Project
The client had a feature-rich vision for a wedding app, with the core value being to take video content from guests at weddings and create vertically oriented highlight reels for the couple, aimed to be posted on TikTok, Instagram, and other Gen Z-friendly platforms.
The Challenge
The product features also included a social feed, guest management, and a footage gallery. My role was to translate this vision and design the complete UI/UX from wireframes to a high-fidelity, GenZ-focused user interface.
The main challenge was to make the app intuitive for a wide range of users — from tech-savvy Gen Z to Boomers — while clearly separating the distinct roles of "Couple" (Admin) and "Guest" (Contributor).
Phase 1: Discovery & Definition
Working alongside the project Product Manager, my role was to help detail all features and establish a clear path forward.

Taskflow for the main role of user types (couple, wedding guests, unregistered guests)
Navigation flow mapping features flows for each user type (couple and guests)
Phase 2: Architecture & Design
With a clear scope, I moved into the design craft, evolving the initial wireframes into the final high-fidelity UI. A key part of this phase was translating the client's robust (but not web-ready) brand book into a practical, technical style guide.

Technical Style Guide (defining web-safe colors, typography, & icons)
Customized Shadcn Design System (based on the style guide)

Couple's Onboarding & Wedding Setup Wireflow
Spotlight 1: Couple's Onboarding
The most complex flow was the Couple Onboarding. It involved business rules for partner invites, the wedding setup, and a questionnaire to tailor the highlight reel to the couple's personality.
I designed this as a guided, step-by-step process that simplified complexity and made setup feel manageable.
Spotlight 2: The Guest Onboarding
For Guests, the design goal was to enable them to access the couple's Wedding Details page as quickly as possible and start engaging on the social feed.
The Outcome
The final result was a complete, development-ready UI/UX design package.
Overall, we were very pleased with the experience.
Client Feedback: The client praised the final design and the strong application of the visual identity.
Personal Takeaway: This project solidified my ability to manage highly complex product scopes, translating a multi-faceted business vision into a clear, functional, and beautiful user interface.
