REAL is building a trading app for the next generation of finance, across mobile and desktop. When we joined, there was a strong thesis and a small founding team, and nothing yet for a user to look at. The product needed a direction before it needed screens, and a brand that could carry a big idea without giving it away.

We've worked alongside the team for eighteen months as their design function: setting the product strategy, defining the core experience across mobile and desktop, and building the brand from the ground up. The identity had to do two jobs at once. It had to feel like serious financial infrastructure, and it had to feel like something new, because the category REAL is building toward doesn't have a look yet.

The product is still in stealth, so what we can show is the brand: the mark, the type, the colour and the visual world around them. The product work sits underneath it, designed to the same standard and ready for launch.

What's left as REAL heads to market is a brand people can already point to, a product direction the team has been building toward for over a year, and a design foundation they can keep shipping into.
