Ocean Getaways
Lee Allan
The brief
Ocean Getaways curates charters and journeys worldwide. Yachting is easy to over-dress: gold, rope, anchors. An advisory with forty years behind it doesn’t need to shout about the boats. It needs to look like the people you’d trust with the trip.
I took on the identity, guidelines, website and social.
The approach
I looked for the one moment every trip shares: a hull meeting open water. Drawn through the A, that wave became the whole mark.
Everything else stays quiet so the journey can lead. Deep Ocean navy, Aegean blue and warm sand. Playfair Display for the headlines, Montserrat for the rest. Photography first, advisory second.
The work
Logo and mark
A stacked and a horizontal wordmark, plus a Q-shaped monogram for small spaces.
Iconography
Four fine-line icons drawn like a nautical chart: wave, compass, journey and horizon.
Voice
Short and confident. Discover. Explore. Charter. Experience. Belong.
Website
Every page leads with the journey, then the advisory. Full-bleed destination photography, generous white space, a sticky navigation that turns solid as you scroll, and a single navy call to action that ends in a one-line inquiry.
Social
The same rule on the feed: the water first, the brand quietly in the corner.
The result
A brand that stays out of the way of the trip. The wave reads as a mark on a business card and as a gesture on a full-bleed photograph, and the system works because almost nothing in it competes with the view.
