Simplifying Real Estate Investing for Everyday African

Unofinance is a land banking startup focused on making real estate investment more accessible to everyday Africans through low-entry digital investing. The platform was designed to help users invest in land with smaller amounts while learning more about land banking and long-term wealth building.

Real estate investing often feels inaccessible to younger and lower-entry investors, especially in markets where users are more familiar with crypto, forex, and stock trading platforms. The challenge was creating an experience that made land banking feel approachable, trustworthy, and easy to understand for first-time investors.

To reduce adoption friction, I designed the mobile experience around familiar fintech and investment app mental models that users already trusted and understood. The product experience focused heavily on clarity, intuitive navigation, simplified investment flows, and creating a smoother learning curve for users exploring real estate investing for the first time.

Rather than positioning the platform like a traditional real estate product, the experience was intentionally designed to feel modern, approachable, and easy to engage with for everyday mobile users.

The final product direction aligned closely with the founders’ vision of making land investment more accessible to a broader audience. Stakeholders responded positively to the platform’s usability, attention to detail, and user-centered approach as the product progressed into production development.
