How might we help artists level up their creativity & collaboration online?

The Art Club is a creative community on Discord dedicated to all genres of art. Art Club is a Discord Partner where is a place for individuals to grow and engage with other 30K+ artists around the world.

The community server is specifically designed for creatives of all kinds and offers many unique features and services not found in other servers, such as a modded commission system, real-time art battles, and art auctions.

Artists from around the world are able to share their work with fellow creatives, compete in themed monthly challenges, events, and gain access to a wealth of knowledge and creative tips all within a single community. Within our server, we help creatives of all kinds get noticed and recognized for the work they create and find friends that share creative interests.

Problem & Solution

Our current problem is the spread the word about Art Club, including how to soar followers through our social media accounts. Our active, main social media accounts are Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tik Tok, and YouTube. Art Club Socials Team plans to generate new content for new artists of all levels and experience to join and collaborate.

Goals/Requirements: Some of the goals and requirements to aim for the long-term are:

• Start small and generate content for Instagram & Twitter as the base
• Expand to Tik Tok, LinkedIn & YouTube to feature video creating artists
• Reach out artists from different socials for feature shoutouts to our socials
• Outreach artist professionals to host webinars, challenges, and mentor young artists to our Discord server while sharing job opportunities in the creative industries
• Rebrand the organization for new year, new start

Process 🛣

The steps to accomplish the long-term goals and requirements involves connecting with artists and other content creators through Discord, Instagram & Twitter to share their artwork in our socials.

Since I have experience in working with Instagram, LinkedIn & Twitter, I start small in generate content from available illustrations and prepare to outreach artists from Twitter.

We believe featuring artists, comment other artists, follow, and tag artists' usernames spread visibility about Art Club.

Around 40% of our Members are High School Students and 35% are Generation Z

Results

Our community server continues to grow that we organized monthly art challenges through Discord and daily prompts to our Instagram & Twitter.

Our current Instagram account has 550+ followers and Twitter has 200+ followers that we continue to try out new content ideas and spread the word about our socials, including our Discord servers.







Takeaways

Final takeaways are pending as this project is on-going and long term. So far, we learned many things about our community server and socials.

Start small and work our ways upwards. Many of our volunteers teams are high school & college students who have limited experience in using social media. However, they have so much potential in connecting with our art members and practice their art skills through art challenges and sharing their work to our socials.

Our work takes time. Since many of us are busy with school, we set small goals and tasks that are doable and realistic. It takes a team to complete small and long-term projects that we prefer to treat as an opportunity to practice our design and creativity skills.
