Project background: The Client requested to create a simple Tax web portal for a Netherlands market. The client’s company provides financial consulting services for Netherlands companies and the portal should be a simple additional tool.
Problems the Client came to me :
Create a simple to use website that will include Tax information and a calculator for Taxes. This is a simple product, which is not supposed to have monetization
Outline Taxes calculator as a killer feature of the portal and make it intuitive to use
Place tables with Tax content on the design and make it not overloaded for Users
Define places for advertisement as it is not a profitable product, so Users wouldn’t be triggered to leave the website
Create a Responsive design and make Table views and Taxes calculator easily accessible on mobile, so Users wouldn’t be overwhelmed with a lot of content
Solution:
Performed initial research and analysis of the target audience based on real Customer data and separated Buyer Personas Portraits. At this stage, we outlined pain points, Personas’ needs, and specific requirements for the Product.
Created an Empathy Map for each Buyer Persona to understand better their demands based on what they feel, think, tell, and do.
Created a User Journey Map to define and map the Customer’s objectives, tasks, feelings, and possible solutions to satisfy all needs.
Performed a Competitive Audit to reveal the benefits and highlight the strengths of our product.
Based on the research results architected new UX including accessibility principles
Developed and added UI to the Wireframes
Created clickable prototypes
Created responsive design
Results:
Client released his Tax web portal to the market and the first early adopters were small-size companies in the Netherlands
After feedback from early adopters we have changed the amount of advertisements on the pages
Web-portal is used now not only for Client’s customers but also for any person who wants to calculate Taxes
Due to the target audience expanding we have added new blocks of content and UX to simplify the entry threshold for people who don't face taxes often
