The Mission

Swerv Auto is a U.S.-based automotive technology company with a bold vision: to give local car dealerships an unfair advantage in a cutthroat market.
They set out to build a data-driven SaaS platform that empowers dealerships to unlock direct-to-dealer acquisitions, bypass the competition, and make razor-sharp sourcing decisions using Open Car Data (OCD). As a Full-Stack Developer, I was brought on to build out this production-grade system—transforming a complex web of fragmented data into a streamlined, automated, and highly profitable acquisition machine.

The Roadblocks

Before Swerv Auto, dealerships were stuck in the slow lane. They relied on a tangled web of disconnected tools and manual processes to manage inventory, leading to ballooning operational costs and missed opportunities.
Key hurdles included:
Data Chaos: Vehicle data was fragmented, unstructured, and difficult to parse.
The Manual Grind: Acquisition workflows and follow-ups were entirely manual, draining time and resources.
Market Blind Spots: Dealerships had no centralized way to analyze Open Car Data to spot trends or understand buyer behavior.
Clunky Operations: Daily operations desperately needed a fast, intuitive interface to keep up with the speed of the market.

Under the Hood: My Contribution

Working at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, I architected and implemented the core functionalities that brought Swerv Auto to life. My focus was on building a seamless, high-performance bridge between the frontend and complex backend operations.
High-Performance Frontend: Developed a lightning-fast, highly usable interface using Next.js.
Robust Backend Logic: Engineered the data processing and workflow architecture using Django.
Seamless Integrations: Wired up third-party powerhouses like GoHighLevel (CRM) and SendGrid (automated outreach).
Data Pipelines: Supported the ingestion, transformation, and automation of crucial Open Car Data workflows.
Cloud Infrastructure: Leveraged AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3) to ensure the platform could scale effortlessly while remaining rock-solid reliable.
Continuous Delivery: Played an active role in CI/CD pipelines and flawless production deployments.
