I created this visual identity system for the Shellfish Growers’ Climate Coalition (SGCC), a group of shellfish farmers, harvesters, and restaurant owners across the U.S. and Canada. The coalition’s mission is to push for climate action to help sustain shellfish and the coastlines and communities that grow them through collective effort.

My role in this project was to develop a cohesive visual brand that fostered a sense of unity among the members driven by the same mission. I drew inspiration from the natural forms of concentric circles found in various shellfish species, as well as wave patterns and ripples. This visual element also took on a metaphor for the coalition’s mission. Paired with Degular, a Grotesque typeface that echoed the shapes within the logomark, and a coastal-inspired color palette, the identity came together cohesively.

This project was a success as the visual identity gave the coalition a strong, unified voice and presence, spanning across social media, email newsletters, and other brand collateral. Overcoming the challenges of differing stakeholder input, and seeing the project from start to finish was incredibly rewarding for me as a designer.
