T-systems Team Sites

The company offers several services to their clients including platforms for communicate, share and integrate work and information within their services. They have been using the old-fashion Sharepoint On server 2016 platform as a team communication site for their clients. Those end customers are not really excited about the structure and how the information is displayed as well as the look and feel. They needed to update the platform and offer a new perspective for team communication.

My role on the project was as UI Designer.

The main contribution to the project was to go beyond what Sharepoint On Server 2019 and Fabric UI design system offers, designing a new bold and shine customizable team sites.

Some of the tasks and the process I performed:

• Analysis of the department needs and scope of the brief.

• Benchmarking of team site solutions.

• Research about the technical viability and compatibilty of webparts and components.

• UX design

• UI design

• Interactive prototyping.

• Creation of a design system which allows fast and easy platform customization.

• Sharing assets with developers.

The final product is a modern, agile and a customizable SaaS platform for teams. The way it has been designed allows the company to provide an easy and fast customization. It goes beyond what you expect from a Sharepoint product with some webparts specific designed for greater experience. A new perspective for customizing shining team sites.
