Research Process Story

We started this project by selecting a topic which is mental wellness, but it is such a broad topic. So, we further decided to narrow down our focus to mental wellness and chose anxiety specifically for our health app challenge.
The study began with extensive primary and secondary research, which revealed increased anxiety among people aged 25 and up due to job search stresses. People preferred wellness programs that combined relaxation with meditation. Furthermore, 53% experienced a loss of identity when job hunting. As a result, the project's focus switched to developing a mental health app that addresses job search-related anxiety through self-care and relaxation practices for overall well-being.

What was the problem?

The problem we observed is that young adults aged 25-30 who are actively looking for work suffer from anxiety, which limits their capacity to maintain a good mentality and enhance their mental health during the job search. As a result, there is an urgent need for a mental health app designed specifically to address their overwhelming feelings of self-doubt and anxiety, allowing for a more constructive approach to job searching.

What we did?

After defining the problem and conceptualizing a solution, the project proceeded with market research to identify direct and indirect competitors, followed by the creation of a user journey map and user flow. The ideation phase involved generating "crazy 4" sketches to explore design concepts, which were then refined through dot voting to select sketches for wireframing.
