Overview

The concept behind MarketStand was simple: to create a platform where Nigerians can purchase local food and vegetables from nearby markets. The inspiration came from the my personal experience of how tedious and time-consuming weekly trips to the market for food items can be.

Process

Research and ideation

To begin, I conducted user research to understand issues in food and grocery shopping, targeting groups such as students and working professionals. Using these insights, I created user personas, defined a problem statement, and ideated solutions to it. Then, I crafted out user flows and wireframes, focusing on local market discovery, an easy-to-navigate marketplace and the checkout process.

Crafting a visual identity

I worked on designing a cohesive visual identity and brand that conveyed freshness, reliability, and convenience and I achieved this by crafting a vibrant colour palette and using clear typography and illustrations.

Outcome

Overall, MarketStand serves as an all-in-one solution for grocery shopping, making the process stress-free and accessible. By connecting users to local markets and supermarkets, it ensures that fresh, locally-sourced produce and other essentials are always within reach.
