As part of a large-scale redesign of an enterprise web application, I led the creation of a unified design system that supported multiple product teams, improved design-to-dev consistency, and accelerated feature delivery.
The system established reusable UI components, standardized interaction patterns, and introduced a scalable visual language that could grow with the product.
My Responsibilities:
Audited existing UI across 100+ screens to identify inconsistencies, duplication, and usability gaps.
Defined foundational elements including color, typography, spacing, grid, elevation, motion, and accessibility guidelines, in accordance with our parent organization's guidelines.
Designed a full component library (buttons, forms, navigation, tables, modals, charts, etc.).
Created documentation for behaviors, states, responsive rules, and best practices.
Partnered closely with engineering to ensure feasibility, component structure, and naming conventions matched coding standards.
Set up versioning and governance so updates to the system remained controlled and scalable.
design → development → deployment
Forming the deployment pipeline
I worked closely with our development team to ensure our design system's color, typography, and other variables were aligned with the code base and our reusable components. Github was our source of truth for this project, so everything flowed to and from there.
