Lilac Escape is a fictional fragrance brand that I created. The goals of this project was to create a full brand standards which includes a new logo, packaging guidelines, social media posts, and mockups that would help reflect the company’s mission and values. To create a consistent and compelling brand identity that would resonate with the target audience and reflect the brand’s essence. The brand standard states a clear guideline on the brand’s logo usage, typography, color palette, imagery, and tone of voice.

I was able to start with research to have a clear understanding on the fragrance industry and to better understand who the competitors are. Upon this research, I was able to create several sketches for the logo design along with the colour palette and typography.

For the logo for Lilac Escape it is aimed to capture the essence of the brand and its key attributes. The chosen design is created with an elegant typography to create a sense of refinement and serenity and a line going through the “E” to symbolize escaping through the scent. The logo symbolizes the brand’s commitment to providing an escape from the everyday, evoking a sense of tranquility and luxury.  

Once the logo was finalized, I was able to create labels for the fragrance and used photoshop to paste the label onto the product photography that I shot for the brand. After, I created social media posts which included 1 carousel post, 3 reel covers, and 3 story posts.

The approach that I took with this project came out successful with the vision I had in mind for it. With the challenges that I did come across when creating this project which includes the editing process of the images and having to apply the fragrance design on the image was difficult at first and after some time, I was able to work faster in editing the other images.

In conclusion, creating the brand standards for Lilac Escape was a fulfilling project as a graphic designer and was able to learn lots from this project.
