I undertook a project to clean, analyze, and visualize data from a local Indian fast food restaurant using Microsoft Excel. The original dataset required substantial preprocessing, including standardizing formats, correcting spelling errors, and addressing missing values. After preparing the data, I built an interactive dashboard that offers clear insights into customer behavior, sales trends, and operational performance. This project highlights my ability to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence using Excel. Objectives: • Clean and analyze restaurant sales and operations data to uncover insights and trends. • Design an interactive Excel dashboard to present findings in a user-friendly format. Data Source: Real-world dataset sourced from Kaggle, representing transactional and operational data from a local Indian fast food restaurant. Methodology: • Created a new “Cleaned Data” sheet to preserve original data integrity. • Used Excel functions and tools to resolve data quality issues. • Standardized text case and naming formats for consistency. • Filled missing values using logical references or marked them appropriately. • Applied conditional formatting to highlight outliers and inconsistencies. • Developed an interactive dashboard using PivotTables, slicers, charts, and a navigation panel for seamless exploration. • Structured the workbook with intuitive navigation to enable users to explore different views effortlessly. Results: • Delivered a polished, fully interactive dashboard with key KPIs, trends, and patterns. • Improved data accuracy and readability for better decision-making. • Enabled efficient data exploration through slicers and structured layout.
