Clubify | Sport Community Platform: Naming, Brand and Website
Clubify is a social sports platform where people create clubs, book sessions and meet others who play the same game. It started in Casablanca and was built to travel, with Brooklyn, London and San Francisco in the city picker from day one.
The challenge
Sport apps usually look like booking tools: grids, timetables and stock photos of lone athletes. Clubify needed to feel like a club people want to belong to, and it needed a name, a brand and a waitlist before the app launched.
What we did
Naming: explored around 80 names and landed on Clubify. The weareclubify.com domain turns the URL into a line of copy that puts the community first.
Identity: a light, open system built on pitch sage, warm-up coral and night ink, with a tight grotesk, rounded pills and soft cards.
Art direction: every image shows a group mid-game, never a lone athlete posing. The moments between plays are what sell a club.
Website: a Next.js site with a city picker, competition, training and friendly match paths, sport community pages, membership plans and captain profiles.
Waitlist: a sign-up form that captures email, city and favourite sport, connected to Kit, so launch emails reach the right players in the right place.
App: React Native and Expo on a Node, Fastify and Supabase backend, plus Google Play store assets.
Content: Instagram strategy and a full launch calendar.
The result
A brand people can join before the app is in their hands: one name, one look and a working waitlist across seven sports and four launch cities.
