Project Overview & Goals

The primary goal of this externship project was to identify incorrect Life Cycle Code (LCC) labeling within the company database to prevent the flow of misleading information to distributors, data consumers, and downstream systems to improve reliance on data for business decisions making. To achieve this goal we looked at the organization's global historical sales data.
The technical aspect of this project consisted of understanding the data model, writing and effectively executing SQL queries, identifying trends by creating data visualizations with Power BI and providing recommendations to stakeholders regarding business rules.

Analysis Process

Please Note: Each team member worked on all aspects of the project equally in terms of technical execution. Each of us worked on analyzing data for individual business rules and collaborated as needed to ensure proper implementation.

Results & Recommendations

In this project, our team recommended optimizing the business rules for certain products in the database by adjusting them based on sales behavior. To increase transparency, we suggested updating the internal software to prompt the user with an error message if the data entered does not meet the business rules, along with an explanation of the rule.
