Bare Earth — Elemental Body Care Identity by May - Brand designer & strategistBare Earth — Elemental Body Care Identity by May - Brand designer & strategist
Bare Earth is an identity exploration centered around grounded body care.
Built from the idea of forest extracts, mineral clays, and pine oils, the study investigates how a brand can communicate strength and ritual without relying on glossy wellness aesthetics.
The focus was clarity, atmosphere, and material depth.
02. Concept & Direction
Bare Earth is not about glow.
It is about grounding.
The direction was shaped by three core principles:
Rather than leaning into soft botanical minimalism, the system embraces density, contrast, and shadow.
The result is a brand world that feels steady, mature, and physically present.
03. Identity System
The wordmark is structured and confident, designed to anchor the visual world.
Typography prioritizes clarity and weight, allowing the identity to remain composed across packaging and editorial applications.
The palette draws from forest depth and mineral surfaces, deep greens, muted neutrals, and tonal contrast reinforcing restraint.
Every decision was made to support cohesion over decoration.
04. Visual Language
Imagery functions as atmosphere rather than embellishment.
• Textural surfaces; moss, stone, bark
• Controlled light and shadow
• Still compositions with weight
• Material-focused mockups
The visual direction grounds the identity in the physical world, emphasizing substance over gloss.
05. Applications
The system was developed to translate naturally across packaging, print, and brand collateral. Each application maintains structure, contrast, and consistency; ensuring the identity feels unified rather than styled.
Bare Earth stands as a study in restraint, where presence is built through intention.
