Vela: an app launch page that moves as you scroll

A scroll through the live Vela site at 1440 px: hero, the sticky phone changing steps, the metal card, testimonials, pricing and FAQ.

The brief

Vela is an invented business account for freelancers: send an invoice in 30 seconds, hold euros and dollars without the bank fees, and have 28% of every payment set aside for tax. I wanted a launch page where scrolling does the explaining, so every motion on it has a job.

What I built

A single landing page in Framer with three breakpoints (1280, 810 and 390 px). I started from an HTML build, took it through Figma, and rebuilt the layout as stacks so it holds at all three widths. The wall of love runs from a Testimonials CMS collection with eight entries, shown in two Ticker rows that move in opposite directions.

Motion

The headline blurs in word by word, with each word delayed 0.07 seconds after the last. The hero phone starts tilted back and straightens as you scroll. In How it works, the phone stays sticky while four steps scroll past, and its screen changes through component variants: Invoice, Paid, Tax pot, Card. The metal card follows your pointer through a small code override, and the FAQ is a component with Open and Closed variants.

Design

Near-black (#08090A) with one lime (#D4FF3A) for the things that matter: the main button, the tax pot ring, the paid states. Geist for text, and Instrument Serif Italic for the one phrase in each heading that should sound more human.
Hero. The headline blurs in word by word, then the phone, floating chips and store buttons arrive in sequence.

Still on my list

A last pass at all three widths, and a few details I haven't carried over from the HTML version yet: the quote marks and avatar gradients on the testimonials, and the sheen that follows the pointer on the metal card. Vela is a concept, so there is no client and every figure on the page is invented.

See it live

The site is published on Framer. Scroll through it, open the FAQ, or move your pointer over the metal card.

Framer concept landing page for an invented freelancer account app: word-by-word headline, tilting phone, sticky steps. Concept project, no client.
