Overview

Cashletter

is a newsletter that aims to teach SaaS founders on how they can increase their revenue with emails.

For the tools, I only used Beehiiv and Google Docs for this.

The Process

I can write newsletters in as fast as 90 minutes.

In fact, I wrote this newsletter in 73 minutes.

My secret?

Outlining.

When outlining, first, what I do is I answer these questions:

• What’s the goal of this newsletter?

• Who am I speaking with?

• What do I want them to do after reading this?

• What emotion am I trying to project? Or am I informing them?

One reader. One problem. One action. One goal.

And after that, I use subheads and bullet points for the actual outlining.

The Newsletter Content:

Building trust is a long-term game.

It's not for the weak who want fast cash.

Playing the long-term game is worth it though.

As long as you’re consistent.

It’ll help you build a consistent flow of leads and authority.

But look.

Building trust doesn't mean you have to post content every single time.

Think of funnels.

Funnels are like systems that build trust on autopilot.

Bottom - To build awareness

Middle - To nurture (we’re here)

Top - To convert

Building trust starts in the middle.

And the best way to build trust is by using emails.

Why emails?

Well, because it's only the channel that you truly own.

Your prospect's inbox doesn't have a complicated algorithm.

It's like when you're sending emails, you're knocking on your prospects door directly.

Now, the best thing about emails is that you can send them on autopilot, which leads them to build trust with you.

Here's how you can do that:

Craft Email Sequences

If you don’t have enough time to write emails consistently…

Here’s a trick for you:

Write email sequences and slap some automation with it.

Here are the types of email sequences you should send:

Welcome sequence

Lead nurturing sequence

Re-engagement sequence

Upsell/Cross-sell sequence

Feedback sequence

Uhm… What Have You Done?

Flex your case studies and testimonials to show authority.

Show them what you’ve done for others.

And show them how you can do the same for them.

Share your past client’s:

Problem

How you solved it

Results

But I’m a beginner…”

“I haven’t had any past clients yet.”

Well, no problem.

The solution to it?

Be your own case study.

Nobody wants to hire a ghostwriter who posts question tweets only.

Nobody wants to hire a web designer who has cluttered website designs.

Nobody wants to hire a coach who can’t even do muscle-ups.

Or...

You can:

Give Value for FREE

Don't worry about people copying your strategy.

99% of them won't act anyway.

When you provide value for free, you show to people that you truly know your stuff—that will lead them to see you as an authority as well.

Another thing:

Reciprocity.

They will feel as if they need to give you something in return.

Basic human psychology.
