Designing from LoFi to HiFi with Human Centered Design
Overview
LocalEyez is a personalized event and experience app that uses your location, time of year, and week to suggest activities ranging from art classes to food tours. The app partners with local newspapers, magazines, and blogs, and uses machine learning technology to improve the personalized experience based on your inputs and past events.
Problem and Solutions
The app needs personalization to engage more with users using machine learning, so the apps need input data as a dataset to give suggestions that might match with users. So we suggest solutions as listed below:
Suggest users answer questions in preferences screens.
Users can choose their favorite activity and interest.
Deliverables
Petra also wants you to remember that not everything for each flow is created, so you'll have to develop the work independently. You will tackle different flows and layouts each day, but the work you will be creating in addition to the UI is listed below:
Onboarding: Your team wants an onboarding flow similar to MeetUp or Flipboard's onboarding process. Do you have any ideas on how to make this process more intuitive?
The remixed layout of "The Feed" for mobile: Your team wants to see how The Feed will look on a mobile platform. What changes will you make to the design? What patterns will you use?
Redesigned User Profile: Your team wants you to redesign the user profile screen completely. You can use the website wireframes as inspiration. Still, they want to see something completely new that enables users to easily update their bio, choose new interests, see an archive of their past events, fill out their payment information, and add a location.
The comparative research from our business analyst
Airbnb Experiences: Connect with locals through Airbnb Experiences. Choose a category, host, and location that interest you. Some experiences include animals, cooking, and adventures. To select an experience, click on a picture of a person and a description of the activity. Search for local or worldwide locations to stay in.
ClassPass: A fitness membership that offers many workout choices. Founded in 2013, ClassPass has over 8,000 partners in 39 cities worldwide, providing users with workout options wherever they are. With ClassPass's easy booking process, choose from over a million fitness classes.
Foursquare: A location technology company with two apps, Foursquare and Swarm. Foursquare offers several products for different needs: Places for developers, Pinpoint and Attribution for marketers, and Place Insights for analysts based on the world's most comprehensive foot traffic panel.
Meetup: An online service that creates groups that host local in-person events. As of 2017, Meetup had over 35 million users. Use Meetup to network, make new friends, or find an activity group.
