The app was not losing users because the UI was bad.
It was asking for full commitment before giving anyone a reason to stay.
GroupsApp (Online Groups & Communities for All) asked for personal details before showing a single group, and Discover showed everything at once.
The fix: let people look inside first. Interests come before sign-up, and an account is asked for only when they join, post, or create.
People do not resist signing up. They resist signing up for an empty room.
Where else does an app ask for trust before showing anything?
