The Control Thread | Human-Directed AI Collaboration

The Control Thread grew out of software-development and publishing work where producing an answer was only part of the problem. The harder questions were what to assign, when the worker should stop, which evidence to trust, and who decides that the result is ready.
The problem An AI assistant can complete an apparently reasonable task while missing the intended outcome. A build can pass while a page still fails editorial review. Useful collaboration needs a clear way to return decisions to the person responsible for the work.
Design decisions I organized the book around actual project friction rather than a catalogue of prompts. Its recurring concerns are bounded assignments, knowledge preserved outside chat, verification appropriate to the consequence, and acceptance that remains with the owner.
The result An 85-page US Letter PDF for people using AI in sustained software, creative, research, or publishing projects. Technical examples are included, but programming experience is not required. AI assisted substantially with drafting under my direction and editorial approval, as disclosed in the book.
