A rapidly growing tech start-up needed an experienced team leader, solution architect and software developer to take over their growing tech team. The ideal candidate would need to manage a small team of software developers and data scientists and provide the technical expertise to migrate existing software to a more scalable tech stack, while ensuring enterprise level security for clients and bringing structure and processes to a previously fairly autonomous tech team.
The process
Through several interviews with CEO, HR and the tech team, I clearly outlined the client's requirements, the work and cultural environment in the company and the team and advised on compensation package for the role.
With this information in hand, I moved onto sourcing from my extensive network of tech professionals and executives, which I had established through active sourcing and attending tech meetups and conferences.
After shortlisting 3 candidates, I proposed them to the client and managed introductions, interview process and negotiations on both sides for all 3 candidates.
The result
The client hired 1 of the 3 candidates as their CTO. The CTO quickly brought structure and processes to the team, migrated the tech stack successfully and navigated the company through a team growth of 300% over 2 years.
