The Problem

Ordering lunch at work shouldn't feel like a gamble. Most food delivery apps hit workers with surprise fees, unpredictable delivery times, and menus so large they create decision fatigue instead of solving it. There's no transparency around what you'll actually pay, when your food will arrive, or whether it fits your dietary needs.
Vittlez was designed to fix that. The goal: give workers access to affordable, reliable lunch with full transparency at every step.

The Approach

Comparative & Competitive Analysis I started by studying the major players — Uber Eats and DoorDash — to understand where mainstream delivery apps fall short for the workplace use case. I then ran a focused competitive analysis on Foodsby, a direct competitor in the workplace lunch space, to identify gaps and opportunities.
Research-Driven Design Decisions Secondary research findings guided early design direction, supplemented by user surveys I conducted to validate assumptions about pain points. The recurring themes were clear: users wanted trust, efficiency, and respect for their time.
Core Features
Curated daily menus that rotate, reducing decision fatigue and keeping options fresh
No surprise fees — what you see is what you pay
Cut-off time system that works for both customers and restaurants, enabling better planning on both sides
Set delivery times and designated delivery locations so there's no guessing when or where food arrives
AI-assisted food search to surface relevant options quickly
Dietary profile setup so preferences and restrictions are built into the experience from the start
Testing & Iteration I used usability testing on the final designs to refine interactions and catch friction points before handoff.

The Result

The final product is a clean, intuitive app that earned consistently positive feedback during testing. Users called out the transparent pricing as a standout feature, noted that the ordering flow felt faster than competing apps, and appreciated that dietary needs were handled upfront rather than buried in filters. The design directly addresses the three biggest pain points uncovered in research: trust, efficiency, and time.
