Making capital serve culture

Cobuild is a social funding product I co-founded in 2025 - a Farcaster mini-app where backing someone is as easy as liking their post.
The idea: crypto made it possible for anyone to own a piece of a creator's upside, but the tools felt like trading terminals. Cobuild hides the machinery behind the most natural actions on a social network:
Buy someone's coin when you like, comment, or follow - social actions become micro-investments in creator coins.
Earn by contributing - leaderboards and community programs reward the people who actually build and grow communities.
Autonomous treasuries - pooled community money is coordinated by AI and routed to contributors, while maintainers review the work and decide what ships.
The mini-app took off: top-3 app on Farcaster by usage, 10k monthly active users, $20k+ in swaps, a featured app - used by people like Jesse Pollak, the creator of Base at Coinbase. The traction earned us a seed investment from Balaji Srinivasan.
On the back of that success we designed a much bigger version - co.build, a "coordination engine for meaningful meritocracies at scale," where communities fundraise through a fair-launch token backed by a shared treasury, and AI plus quadratic engagement signals route capital to the builders doing the work. The crypto market turned against us before it could take off, and we made the hard call to wind it down.

My role

CoBuild is a two-person company: the same duo that built Flows. We shape the product together - the mechanics and the roadmap - and split the execution along familiar lines: he owns the protocol and backend, I own the frontend and the UI/UX layer.
Working as a duo keeps the loop brutally short: an idea from the morning call can be live in the app the same week. That speed is what let two people compete with funded teams for a top-3 spot on Farcaster.

What have I learned?

Distribution-first product thinking - mini-apps live or die by how naturally they fit the host network's behavior.
Designing incentives - creator coins, engagement signals, treasury mechanics: when the product is money, incentive design is the real UX.
Reading the market - a great product with real traction and a top-tier investor still answers to market timing. Knowing when to stop is a product decision too.
