SentrySix: a defense-tech homepage rebuilt into a build-ready Figma system

A defense-tech company had signed off on its homepage.
Everyone liked it. Leadership had blessed it. On paper, the hard part was done.
Except nothing was moving.
The design existed as a single flat image. Beautiful, and completely inert. The developers opened it and had nothing to work with. No layers, no spacing logic, no structure. Just a picture of a website.
So the project stalled in the worst possible place. Past the decision, before the build.

Why this mattered

SentrySix builds defense technology across ground, air, space, and cyberspace.
In that world, the homepage isn't decoration. It's the first credibility test. A defense buyer decides whether you're serious in the first few seconds, before a single word is read.
So the site had to land as advanced and institutionally solid at once. And the company couldn't afford for that first impression to stay stuck in a file nobody could open.
Every week it sat unbuilt was a week the product wasn't in front of the people meant to buy it.

The real constraint

This wasn't a redesign job, and treating it like one would have been the wrong call.
The concept was already approved. Reopening it would have meant another round of internal sign-off, more weeks lost, and a team relitigating a decision they'd already made.
The value wasn't in a new idea. It was in making the existing one real.
So the brief came down to one line. Make it buildable, keep it intact.
That constraint is the whole story. The discipline here was knowing what not to touch.
