Context
Ken's Mobile Catering was a catering service started in 2019. This business is unique as it offers a mobile catering service, whereby they have a kitchen set-up in a trailer which they move from one location to the other. This business was only a week old when we started working on this project.
Problems
As a new business, it was challenging to set up marketing tools. There was a minimal digital presence and no social media goals that could help build an audience. There were a lot of areas to be covered and strategies to be made.
Goals
The aim was to create awareness about the business in the community in a given time frame. As a mobile catering service, mobility was one advantage we had with this business. So, I determined that our marketing goals should mostly revolve around that. Moreover, this business could use an already existing food truck community in town to promote itself to its customers.
Process
I started with an audit of the business and its competitors to gain an insight into their strengths and weaknesses and observed their social media activities. With the help of an audit, I discovered some crucial facts about their social media pages such as page likes, followers, kind of content posted and much more.
The first step was to set up social media. I created Facebook and Instagram pages and focused on content and its consistency.
Next, with the help of the business owner, we created a website on WordPress and heavily optimized it for the search engines. We also created a Google My Business account to help people locate the business quickly.
Finally, I started creating content. We focused on increasing the number of followers, especially on platforms like Instagram.
Results
With the quality and consistency of the content, we increased our follower count to almost 300% in the first three months of starting the business.
The website improved the number of sales calls to an average of six per day, which I believe is phenomenal for a business this new.
