Establishing Instagram

Perfect Still is a professional mobile photography account on Instagram that started in late 2020.

It is a fun little project; back in September 2020, I was going through the pictures on my phone while quarantining at my house. As a photography enthusiast, I used to travel a lot to take pictures. While doing so, I had the idea of creating an Instagram account and post these pictures to learn more about the platform and stay in touch with the basics about dos and don'ts.

There were two main objectives of creating this page; the first was to build a community of mobile photographers, and the second was to learn more about the algorithms. I intended to improve my skills as much as possible, and in this process, I learnt a lot. By utilizing tools such as location-based hashtags and Hootsuite's publishing feature, I drove a lot of traffic from the photography community.

The main takeaway from this project was how important it is to tell a story and refine your content. The Instagram algorithm has been designed to flag the content according to its quality, so it is essential to meet specific parameters while creating your content to reach the maximum amount of audiance.
