Maison d'Aura - Luxury Fragrance Brand Identity

Brand identity, 3D packaging design, and visual direction for a self initiated luxury fragrance concept built to explore how architectural design principles translate into scent branding.

Client Objective

To elevate a mid market fragrance brand's visual system to support a 30% price-point increase through premium positioning.
The Problem
A new luxury fragrance brand has to compete in a market where visual identity is often the only thing separating it from established houses. The challenge was to create a brand that feels established, tactile, and Parisian without leaning on the usual luxury cliches like gold foil, rose motifs, script fonts. It also needed a bottle designed with real proportion and structure, not just a flat mockup.

The Process

Typography & identity direction

The "Maison d'Aura" wordmark uses a refined serif to signal heritage and quiet confidence, paired with generous letter spacing to keep it feeling architectural rather than ornamental restraint over decoration.

Color & material direction

Warm terracotta tones and sculptural arch forms were pulled directly from Parisian architecture, treating the brand's visual world the way I'd approach a building: starting from structure and proportion before surface detail.

3D modeling in Blender

Rather than design the bottle as a flat graphic, I modelled it in 3D to get the proportions genuinely right before finalizing anything:
Blocking stage: early clay render establishing the bottle's silhouette and proportions
Material pass: testing glass refraction, liquid tone, and cap material to get the light interaction right
Lighting & render setup: dialling in studio lighting to match the warmth of the brand's color direction
Final composite: bringing the rendered bottle into the arch backdrop scene for the final hero shot

The Outcome

The final packaging system bottle, label, and arch backdrop presentation shown as a cohesive brand world rather than a single product shot.

Why this approach

Rather than default to typical luxury fragrance codes, I approached Maison d'Aura the way I'd approach a building starting with structure and proportion before surface. Modelling the bottle in 3D let me control that proportion precisely instead of guessing at it in 2D. The result is a brand that feels architectural rather than decorative.
