UNHCR Web-Based Challenge for Long Day of Flight

UN High Commissioner for Refugees asked me to create a web-based challenge where people could learn about their mission and hear the story of four refugees, while solving riddles. This was part of their "Langer Tag der Flucht" ("Long Day of Flight"), a day in which Austrians, refugees and asylum seekers in Austria have the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn more about one another at workshops, readings, exhibitions, film screenings, discussions, etc.
The process involved creating the riddles, scripting the videos that led players to the next clue, building the website and designing and animating content both for the website and for social media to spread the word. The video invitation above (originally in German) even played on screens in the Vienna Underground stations!

The webquest featured videos where refugees in Austria shared their stories, while providing key clues needed to succeed in the game.
Players had to find or deduce the passwords needed to unlock new videos and move forward.
Fun fact: I don't speak German, but thanks to the awesome team in Austria we were able to make it happen.
