The client is a New York-based yoga studio catering to individuals interested in yoga practice, particularly beginners seeking guidance and support.
The client identified a need to enhance the yoga experience for beginners by providing a user-friendly and engaging mobile app that offers instructions and timers for yoga poses. The challenge was to design an app that seamlessly integrates the playful cat theme while remaining functional and practical for yoga practitioners.
To understand the target audience, user research methods such as surveys and interviews were employed. User personas and user journeys were developed to gain insights into user preferences and behaviours.
Competitive analysis was conducted to evaluate existing yoga apps and identify opportunities for differentiation. Insights gained from this analysis informed design decisions and feature prioritisation.
Early wireframes were crafted to outline the app's layout and functionality. Design decisions were made to ensure a seamless user experience while incorporating the playful cat theme.
Interactive prototypes were developed to simulate user interactions and test usability. Design choices were guided by the goal of creating an engaging and intuitive user experience.
In conclusion, the "Stretch + Paws" project involved designing and developing an iOS app to enhance the yoga experience for beginners. The project showcased my ability to blend creative design with functionality, resulting in a delightful user experience that aligned with the client's branding guidelines and objectives. This project contributed to my expertise in mobile app design, highlighting the importance of user research, iterative design, and collaborative development processes.
