Maris, a self-initiated UI Figma design project for a fictional high-end fragrance company, began as a creative challenge to revamp the online presence of a luxury scent brand. The fictional client's request was to create a seamless, intuitive e-commerce platform, placing the product at the forefront while maintaining consistent branding that resonates with the brand's luxurious persona. Maris, a fine perfumery and scent company, prides itself on meticulous craftsmanship, intentional ingredients, and a commitment to sensory pleasure.

Maris is a high-end fine perfumery and scent company that offers body perfumes as well as fragrances for the home. The client’s current online platform lacked brand and visual consistency and the user-journey was bulky, uninformative and overwhelming. They tasked me with completely overriding their existing website UI design, offering a clear, refreshed and sophisticated solution that aligns more with the brand’s ethos and personality.
In the research and discovery phase, I took two distinct approaches, examining social media profiles and competitor websites, such as Le Labo, to understand the target audience's characteristics and preferences. With these insights, I created brief branding guidelines, defining Maris's identity through mission statements, colour palettes, typography, and photography assets.
Moving onto wireframing, I designed low-fidelity wireframes on Figma, prioritising content layout and the user journey, with a specific focus on the booking process. Branding integration (colour palette and typography) emphasised the high-end aesthetic and using sophisticated imagery reinforced the brand's visual identity/personality. Maris's visual identity, characterised by a natural and earthy colour palette, was designed to highlight the brand's commitment to sourcing high-quality, natural ingredients.
Prototyping during the wireframing phase guaranteed an efficient and error-free customer booking experience, with additional emphasis on overall functionality. I also designed an Email Newsletter Campaign for Maris, to enhance online engagement and further promote Maris’ products.
Reflecting on this UI Figma design project, it shows my ability to merge a companies brand with functional user experience, resulting in a sophisticated online platform for a fictional high-end fragrance company. The lessons learned contribute to my expertise by reinforcing the importance of comprehensive research, strategic wireframing, and a focus on user journeys in crafting visually cohesive and functional digital experiences.
