Imparfait l'Atelier Créatif is a Canadian furniture manufacturer that creates high-end, custom-made products for B2B and B2C customers. Their existing website was not functional like an eCommerce, as it only allowed customers to request product quotes. Thus, Imparfait wished to expand its business and reach a new customer base by adding ready-to-buy retail products for B2C and allowing product customization.

PROJECT SCOPE

• We performed a competitive analysis of similar industry companies and a SWOT analysis
• We prepared a collaborative mood board to share UI inspirations with the client and discuss the best practices for user experience
• To translate the company’s brand premium vibe, we used plenty of white space, high-quality pictures, soft beige hues
• We created wireframes for the main pages in their desktop, tablet and mobile versions to help the client visualize how the website will evolve depending on the device and also to help their developers create the perfect experience for browsing
• We delivered high-quality Figma templates with UI guidelines (including hover states and animations), ready to hand off to their development team

METHODS

Imparfait did not have proper brand guidelines, only a logo and a light branding on the existing website. To get that modern, premium vibe they were hoping to get, we created a minimalist design with strong, bold, condensed fonts paired with earthy tones that remind of the natural components of the furniture and its design, which mostly has bold and edgy lines. The eCommerce section contains all the recent best practices for user retention and boost transactions, such as mega-menus, quick checkout, fully responsive design, and a seamless user flow. We created a customization tool that is divided into steps to help make the creation process quick and easy.
