Coalescent Cognition

What started as a responsive breakpoint fix turned into a full site overhaul for Coalescent Cognition, an AI company building tools at the intersection of cognition and technology.

The original site had broken layouts across devices, clipped typography, and buttons that didn't work on tablet or mobile. Rather than patch things, I rebuilt the responsive structure from scratch across desktop, tablet, and mobile, ensuring consistent rendering in both Safari and Chrome.

From there, the scope grew. I redesigned the header with two options: a full-width image background and a full-width AI-generated video background built with Magnific. An electric blue accent was introduced throughout the site to sharpen the visual identity, going beyond the original brief.

I built a dedicated Team page with a two-column layout for CEO and CSO bios, card styles matching the homepage About Us section, a nav bar with logo, and consistent branding throughout. The Team link was wired across all breakpoints, including the footer.

A Privacy Policy page was created as a CMS collection with consistent branding, colour scheme, and header/nav linking back to the main site. A site-wide footer with a Privacy Policy link tied everything together.

Beyond the structural work, I adjusted spacing across sections, added more white space, decreased paragraph font sizes, and softened the overall look. Small fixes like the clipped "g" in "Cognition" and the broken "Work with us" button on tablet and mobile were cleaned up. A final QA pass ensured the site felt cohesive and professional across every breakpoint.
