A full website design and Framer build for Smith Hill Tavern, a family-owned restaurant in Ashby, Massachusetts serving elevated comfort food with locally sourced ingredients.
The owner had a clear vision for the tavern's identity but needed a web presence that matched the quality of what they were putting on the plate. The goal: stand out from other local restaurants in the same tier while signaling where the brand is headed.

What I did
Market research — Analyzed competing restaurants in the area and aspirational brands the owner wanted to be compared to. Identified gaps in how local spots present themselves online and built a strategy around warmth, personality, and credibility.
Design & copywriting — Designed the full site from scratch with a tone that matches the tavern's character. Wrote copy that leans into the restaurant's personality ("Yeah, we're in Ashby. Come anyway.") rather than generic hospitality language.
Framer build — Built the complete site in Framer, including a tabbed multi-category menu system (dinner, lunch, comfort, brunch, kids), an events section for their live music series, a reservation and inquiry form, and a fully responsive layout.
