Project Summary

(5 designers + 1 project manager + client)
Targeted college athletes and provided gamified and trendy interface
Redesigned their mvp focusing on improving the onboarding process and interface of the dashboard
Added left navigation bar for more organized and intuitive guidance on user experience.
Presented new UI and finalized the style guide for their future use
Scaled the usability by conducting user testing and made improvements based on feedback
Delivered developer hand-off file with annotations and measures

The Challenge: How might we enable student athletes to easily discover, connect with, and collaborate on brand campaigns through a streamlined and intuitive platform experience?

Student athletes often struggle to discover, connect, and collaborate with brands in a streamlined and professional way. The process of finding relevant campaigns, applying, negotiating terms, and delivering content is fragmented and inefficient—especially for individuals with limited time and experience managing brand partnerships.
Our challenge was to design a seamless end-to-end platform experience that empowers student athletes to easily apply to campaigns, communicate with brands, and activate user-generated content collaborations—all while ensuring clarity, efficiency, and brand alignment throughout the journey.

1. Discover Campaign Opportunities

Motivation: Looking for brand deals that align with their personal goals or niche Action: Logs into the dashboard to view available campaigns Touchpoints: Campaign listings Outcome: Identifies a campaign of interest

2. Apply to Campaign

Motivation: Wants to collaborate with a brand and gain exposure or compensation Action: Find a campaign and expresses interest. Filtered based on media. (Would be nice to filter by interests, sport type, follower count, etc. for future improvement) Touchpoints: Application form or "Apply" button Outcome: Application is submitted and awaits review

3. Matched by Brand

Motivation: Hopes to get selected and start collaborating Action: Waits for the brand to review and respond Touchpoints: Notification system on Chat Outcome: Brand reaches out if there's a fit

4. Initiate Conversation

Motivation: Clarify expectations and negotiate terms Action: Uses in-app chat to discuss campaign details with the brand Touchpoints: Chat feature on dashboard Outcome: Both parties agree to proceed

5. Finalize Collaboration

Motivation: Secure the deal and begin creating content Action: Confirms deliverables, timeline, and compensation Touchpoints: Chat or agreement summary on deals provided from the brands Outcome: Deal is finalized and confirmed

6. Launch UGC Campaign

Motivation: Fulfill commitment and promote the brand Action: Creates and shares user-generated content Touchpoints: Content tracking tools. Performance dashboard. (Profile: exiting page) Outcome: Campaign is live, and performance is tracked

Outcome

While delivering the rebumped MVP, the project was transitioned to a third-party design team. However, we ensured continuity by providing a comprehensive style guide for future development and design alignment.
