Active Estimating is a B2B platform for construction estimating teams. Its buyers are construction executives, VPs of preconstruction and chief estimators: a conservative audience that values precision, structure and reliability. I took the project from audit to launch: web audit, full UX/UI redesign and the WordPress build.
Scope: web audit, UX/UI design, UI kit, WordPress development, mobile adaptation, SEO setup, brand assets
Timeline: January to May 2026
The challenge
The product already worked at an enterprise level, but the website still looked like a draft. Senior buyers judge credibility in seconds, so the site had to carry authority and clarity from the first screen.
The build had its own constraints. The client already had a developer and some half-built pages, the live site had to match Figma exactly, and they wanted a standard build that their own team could maintain later, without heavy custom code.
Process
Audit first. I reviewed content, structure and UX gaps before touching visuals.
Structure, not a refresh. I rebuilt the information architecture so a busy executive understands the product, its value and its role in preconstruction without hunting for it. Separate segment pages speak to different types of construction companies.
Enterprise visual system. Strong typography, a restrained palette, real construction imagery and a clear grid. I documented it in a UI kit with animation notes for the build.
Design to live site
Rebuilt every page on WordPress strictly to the Figma file, desktop and mobile, responsive across breakpoints.
Delivered the build in three milestones so the client could launch sections as they were ready.
Kept it a standard WordPress build: the in-house team edits text and images in the admin panel.
Set up basic SEO: titles, meta descriptions and structure.
Result
A live, enterprise-grade website at activeestimating.com that matches the design pixel for pixel.
A site the client's own team maintains without a developer.
The client came back for a brand asset kit, marketing templates and an email signature in the same visual language.
