I researched on the performance of similar products to identify their strengths and weakness. This study is to help me sharpen the features my products will deliver and discover the holes other similar products has which my product will fill.

The top tutoring sites I reviewed were: Preply, Tutorful, Tutorhunt and Tutorme. Find below the outcome of the research.

To define my target users, I had to create 2 hypothetical users defining their goals and identifying their frustrations toward achieving that goals. These hypothetical users are a professional Tutor and a student with their different career and academic need. Read about my users below.

I moved on to creating task flow for the product. These task flows maps the pages the product will have, how it will function and the process it will take to perform a task successfully on the app. These task flow are created for the home page, student’s dashboard, tutor’s dashboard, admin’s dashboard and the verifier’s dashboard.

I created the wireframes to show the stakeholders what the app will look like. Each of the screens were populated with the information they should have. The wireframes are created for the home page, student’s dashboard, tutor’s dashboard, admin’s dashboard and the verifier’s dashboard.

This is where I set up the branding rules for the product, starting from making a color choice for the brand, designing of logo and preparing the style guides.

These consist of the design element and their variants that requires consistency to how they appear throughout the designs. They are made components to aid cross editing along the design journey.
