UX Design for Giftie App

Giftie is a mobile application that aims to connect individuals who want to give thoughtful gifts with friends, family, and even strangers who have expressed their needs or desires to the public. The app provides a convenient and user-friendly platform for users to browse, select, and send gifts to others, fostering a culture of generosity and kindness. This case study will outline the UX design process undertaken for Giftie, highlighting the key steps and considerations in creating an engaging and intuitive gifting platform.

The traditional process of finding suitable gifts or fulfilling the wishes of others can be challenging and time-consuming. There is a need for a user-friendly platform that allows individuals to easily discover gift ideas and connect with those who are seeking assistance. The goal is to create an app that simplifies the gifting process, encourages meaningful interactions, and promotes a sense of community.

To gain insights into the target audience’s needs and expectations, extensive user research was conducted. Surveys, interviews, and competitor analysis were employed to understand the pain points of both gift givers and recipients. The research identified the following key user personas:

Gift Givers: Individuals looking for suitable gift ideas and easy ways to send them.

Gift Recipients: People who wish to express their needs or desires to others in a public setting.

Users browse through a feed of wishes posted by others, filtering them based on categories, locations, or specific criteria.

They can share these wishlists or fulfil them buy contributing or buying out.

Users can select a gift which could be an airtime, bill payment, item, or money and send it to another user
