My Tiny Canvas is an artist-run, pop-up studio for children ages 2 - 10 years old, which seeks to explore a range of values through the space of art. Honoring the potentiality of ideas, my tiny canvas aims to highlight the significance of design thinking, critical reasoning, experimentation, and play within areas of creativity. Over perfectionism and merit, they value empathy, kindness, wisdom, mindfulness, love, and respect.

Woodyland is one of the studio's Halloween events for its students this 2023. It is a full day of activities such as a Horse Show, Farm Tour, Crafts Time, and more on actual farm grounds (yes, with real horses!) in collaboration with Los Tamaraos, a Polo & Equestrian club.

The goal of this project is to design digital and print promotional materials to encourage not only the kids to be excited about the event but also to entice the parents to allow their kids to enjoy an afternoon of art and play with horses and the community.

Main Poster and Ticket Rate Poster

To do so, we needed to ensure that the promotional materials were not only eye-catching and playful but also readable and digestible so that parents could easily find important information.

The creative inspiration for Woodyland is an old-west carnival style (think cowboys, desert, rustic, and county fair) while still incorporating a playful Halloween vibe that would be fun and alluring to kids (think Woody from Toy Story!).

Ticket and Tokens

In collaboration with Teacher Nikki, owner and artist of My Tiny Canvas, we laid down the elements, colors, and typography we will use to design the communication materials for the event.

The colors chosen were primarily taken from the old-west carnival style for the rustic vibe, but the main background of blue with clouds is inspired by the movie Toy Story for a more cartoon and playful look. The font style chosen is also bold and playful which adds to the fun personality of the designs. Elements such as cactus, cowboy hats, horses, dessert, bulls-eye, stars, and horseshoes were also added to complete the look.

Teacher Nikki also wanted to incorporate her personal touch in these materials, thus providing me with her beautifully hand-painted horses to showcase all over these materials.

Program Guide and About the Program Posters

These promotional or communication materials were also resized to fit various social media platforms and communication channels such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Viber.

Deliverables for the project: Event Logo Design, Typography Pairings, Main Event Poster, Save The Date Poster, Facebook Event Cover, Tiny Token, Ticket Rate Poster, Admit One Ticket, About the Program Poster, Program Guide, About the Schools, About the Teachers.
