Mira App

Mira is a wellness companion designed to help people feel better in moments when they feel low not just by giving advice, but by gently nudging them toward actions that can improve their mood.
Rather than relying solely on affirmations or generic tips, Mira suggests music to listen to, places to visit, and small actions to take. The goal is simple: sometimes, advice alone isn’t enough — sometimes, you need to step outside, move, feel, and reconnect with the world.

Story for context

Jamie is a top-notch designer based in the Philippines. After building a successful company on his own, he decides to move to San Francisco in search of bigger opportunities. While the move marks a major career win, it also comes with challenges.
Jamie is naturally shy and reserved. He’s far from home, navigating time zone differences, a new culture, and an unfamiliar city — mostly on his own.
That’s where Mira comes in.
Mira becomes more than just an app. It checks in on Jamie’s emotional well-being every day, helping him understand how he feels and why. When Jamie feels low, Mira doesn’t just tell him to “stay positive.” Instead, it suggests songs that match or lift his mood, recommends places to visit, and encourages him to explore his new environment — gently pushing him toward moments of connection, discovery, and relief.

Thought Process

Design: The primary goal of Mira’s design is to help users feel good. Color choices were intentionally kept soft and muted to evoke calmness and emotional safety. Typography is gentle and unobtrusive, reinforcing a sense of coolness and ease rather than urgency.
Every interaction is deliberate. Not to impress, but to communicate presence. The interface is designed to feel like it’s there with you, offering quiet support rather than demanding attention. Rive animation: The purpose of motion in Mira is to make the app feel present at all times. By animating different states from morning to night, the app responds to real-world time, reinforcing the idea that Mira is aware of when you show up.
The animation is designed to feel responsive — the way a companion would be. Even the call-to-action text changes subtly to avoid repetition, reducing a robotic feel and making interactions feel more human. Thank you for reading this far. Every pixel and every motion in Mira was created with intention. If you have a project in mind, let’s talk about how I can bring it to life through thoughtful design and purposeful motion.
