Body Politic is a queer, feminist, wellness collective that aims to provide inclusive and accessible wellness resources. Body Politic seeks to make all things wellness and fitness related available to excluded communities (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, and people with disabilities). My time with Body Politic was spent spreading awareness about the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic on patients and "Covid long-haulers," patients who experience symptoms past the acute phase of the virus and may experience them permanently. Body Politic hosts a global Covid patient support group for anyone who has experienced Covid, like caring for a loved one or been a patient themselves. As part of the team spreading the word about our resources, I helped spearhead our Instagram outreach by creating and executing two social media campaigns, #VoicesOfTheVirus and #CovidPatientAlly. These campaigns simultaneously spread awareness about Long Covid and amplified the voices of Covid patients, particularly patients who are women or LGBTQIA and BIPOC.
