Rebranding The Future of Wildlife Travel

In March 2020, Wild Eye and the travel & tourism industry, like many other industries, was dealt a catastrophic blow with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. At an estimated 80% decline in income generated by tourism, the industry remains under huge threat, resulting in projected losses in excess of a trillion dollars. 
Can You Guess the Symbol of Wild Eye?
It is the slow moving, colour changing old world lizard. Yes! The marveled chameleon.
With its protruding eyes, projectile tongue and 360° vision, the chameleon is a popular symbol for change, sensitivity, curiosity and insight. Wild Eye has relied on this adaptable creature as their brand mark since the company was founded in 2012.
The Story Wild Eye set out to refresh the photographic, travel and private guiding industries by focusing on providing a professional service that was also fun and relaxed. Wild Eye has grown over the years to a company with 9 full-time guides, full logistics and safari operations teams in both Johannesburg and Nairobi, as well as their own piece of Africa - the Wild Eye Mara Camp.
The Slogan Change the way you see the world. With the danger and disorientation of Covid 19, the need to shift our perspectives has never felt as powerful as the present. Going 'back home' and reconnecting with mother nature is a very grounding and emotive experience. This is consistent with wildlife photography and many share how it changed them, or someone they know. This not only promotes our company's purpose, but resonates with an even wider audience than before.
